Before starting her own publicity company in 2013, Alyson Sinclair worked in house in the publicity and marketing departments of Farrar, Straus and Giroux in NYC and City Lights Publishers and McSweeney's in San Francisco. Her connections are strong and varied in the national and local literary, arts & culture, music, and general interest media world. She's also set up hundreds of events at venues large and small—from indie bookstores to all the major U.S. book festivals, the 92nd St. Y, Los Angeles Public Library, Chicago Tribune events, MPR: The Current Presents (Mpls.), the Smithsonian (DC), City Arts & Lectures (SF), etc.

When connecting about a possible freelance or consulting opportunity, it’s helpful to know if you have already established goals, a project timeline, an estimated budget, and/or set an event/publication date. If you’re connecting about freelance book promotion, please include a brief description, author or editor bio, and name of the publishing house. Generally, it’s best to connect at least 6+ months in advance of an event/project/or book launch.
Alyson Sinclair PR is currently a 2-person team (Alyson Sinclair & Sarah Cassavant), so the pipeline can fill up quickly. We aim to only take on projects where we can add value to the client and we genuinely care about the books, events, organizations, and publishers we promote.
